Performance vs price

The DenTek uses a slightly textured scraping edge that grips coating better than a smooth edge. Coating removal is good for a plastic scraper but below stainless steel. In our tests, it removed about 80% of what Dr. Tung's removes per pass. Good enough for a healthy-mouthed person using it daily.

The flex is moderate. Not as springy as Dr. Tung's but better than a totally stiff model. It conforms reasonably well to tongue curves without bottoming out or buckling.

When to replace

The DenTek arms start to fatigue after 90-120 days of daily use. The flex gets softer and the edge loses its grip texture. With a 4-pack, you get a fresh one every 3 months, which aligns with the replacement window. This is actually a good system.

Who should buy it

Buy DenTek for families, shared bathrooms, gym bags, or travel. The 4-pack value is the best in the category. Skip it if you want the best possible coating removal and are willing to pay $8 for a single Dr. Tung's.

Verdict

4.0 / 5

Best pack value. $1.75 per scraper, 4-pack total. Good flex, decent coating removal. Replace every 90 days. A smart buy for families.
